We have made our own pizzas for two years now. However, we have been frustrated with the dough always sticking to our aluminum pizza peel. We know we have to, “Do the dance” with the dough on the peel several times as we assemble the pizza. No matter how many times we sprinkle-throw extra flour-cornmeal mixture underneath the fully loaded pizza, it doesn’t easily slide onto the steel sheet inside our hot oven. Someone commented that pizza dough doesn’t stick so much on a wooden peel and allows a pizza to launch more easily. We wanted a peel that’s tapered, and this Loftern Wooden Pizza Peel 16 Inch Board fits our needs. It’s pretty hefty, weighing 3lbs., 3.3oz., and is 1/2″ thick, which is okay with me since my boyfriend is the one who makes the dough and cooks the pizza. (I slice the veggies and gather the other toppings to help layer them.) The total length of this board is 25″, the handle alone is 8″, and the peel is 16″ in diameter for those times we will make a pizza larger than 14″. We seasoned this bamboo peel with Canola oil and hung it in our pantry for a couple days to absorb the oil more easily. It made the color of the wood appealingly deepen a bit. We will probably never use the side with the engraved slice sizes and circles. (I even noticed that as I washed it later on, some dough/crust got embedded in the grooves and heightened the reason not to use that side at all.) The tapered edge is more like a bevel but still allowed the pizza to slip off nicely. (My boyfriend has always wanted to cook a pizza on a grill, which would logistically be easier than messing up an oven and heating up the house in the summer.) We will still use our aluminum peel that allows him to rotate the pizza after 5 minutes inside his new grill. (You probably can just use the Loftern bamboo peel to rotate and retrieve your own pizza, but we did not try doing that.) I’ve attached a short video of the first time we, “Did the dance” with our dough but should have recorded a better video with the fully loaded pizza easily, “Doing the dance.” We are very pleased with this Loftern Wooden Pizza Peel.

TLDR: I would buy this is I was looking for a cutting board and a pizza paddle, as fills both of those roles very well. However, if Iwas only really looking for one or the other, there are cheaper options.This thing is great. I mean, come on, it’s a pizza paddle in your own home. I recently moved, and left my big cutting board with my roommate, so I was in the market for one. I also go through stretches where Im too lazy to cook after work and I eat a lot of frozen pizzas. Generally, when I would make a pizza, I would slide it off the oven rack after it cooked, onto my big cutting board, which I no longer have lol. This character just seemed like the best of both worlds. It’s a cutting board, and I can use it to actually slide my pizza out of the oven, 10/10.It works great for taking pizzas out of the oven, but im not 100% sold on the durability of the pizza cutting template. I mean, its wood, so it can be easily damaged it handled a certain way. I just envision some of those corners where the gridlines meet being very easily chipped away by a knife or a pizza cutter. For that reason, I likely wont use the pizza grid side that often, but the other side is just fine. Personally, I didn’t get it for the cutting grid, I got it for the novelty of having a pizza paddle that also filled a functional role in my kitchen.Theres also a little bit of rough wood on the cutting grid. I mean, its wood, so personally im not super surprised by this. It could probably be easily remedied with a little fine-grit sandpaper, but if you are the type that wants thing 100% perfect straight out of the box, its something to consdier. If you are wanting to buy it just because you think the cutting grid is cool, then it may or may not be the right purchase for you. Additionally, if you only want a cutting board, you can find one of those much cheaper. But, if you just wanna be the cool guy or gal with the pizza paddle hanging in your kitchen, this is the one for you.

Would you just get a look at the size of this! Wow. I always joke I have a pea size head but suddenly that’s not as funny as I thought. I am going to up my game in the deli pizza department and upgrade to the larger size now that I have something that will dependably handle the load. It’s no joke though that this is a solid tool in your kitchen arsenal. It’s my first pizza peel although a former roommate had one that was a lot smaller and I’ve missed the convenience of one ever since. The beveled edge helps a lot to scoop under the pizza. I’m looking forward to not losing a pizza to my oven door or the floor because I just used a fork to slide the pizza onto the cardboard circle that it was packaged with. It wipes clean with a damp sponge. It’s not gonna fit in a sink to wash so I use a sponge while I hover it over. It’s great. Makes me feel kind of tuff when I use it.

Excellent Pizza Peel
Well made, large, sturdy, quality pizza peel. I make a lot of homemade pizzas, either inside or outside in my brick oven. This peel is perfect for both. Just put some cornmeal down on the board, roll out the dough, do a little shake to make sure it’s not stuck, and then add your toppings. Slides off easily onto the pizza stone. I can definitely recommend it.

This is pizza peel is huge!! Although it is X-large, it is easy to handle. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it. The quality was beyond my expectations. Perfect for my homemade pizza
I enjoy making my own pizza and there is nothing like doing it yourself. I use a pizza stone in the oven to get a good and crispy crust. When the pizza is done I usually take it out of the oven and set the hot stone on the counter on a hot pad. Trying to stabilize the stone and cut it can be difficult sometimes. This peel has helped to solve this problem. I love the beveled edge to get under the pizza and bring it out of the oven with ease. You can also roll the pizza out on the peel while you are heating your stone and then slide it on there as well. It is light weight and just the right size as I like making bigger pizzas for a lot of people. The wood is quality bamboo and solid and should hold up to the test of time. It has a nice guide for cutting as well as sometimes the pieces do not come out even. If you are looking for a gift for a pizza lover, this is it! They will not be disappointed.

Large pizza peel, works great
This pizza peel is great. It works way better than the metal ones I had been previously using. The dough does not stick nearly as much as with the metal ones. This one is nice too as it has some different circumferences pre measured so you can get your dough to the desired size very easily. So far the peel is durable and has worked great. My only complaint is that the peel is quite large making it tricky to store. I guess I knew it would be pretty big but I didn’t realize how big h til I tried to fit it in storage cabinets when not in use. Regardless it is a high quality pizza peel and I would get it again if needed.

This seems well-made and is neutral and attractive for kitchen use and display. We really don’t make homemade pizzas in my house, but I am excited to have this to use to load and remove frozen pizzas. In the past we have used the pizza cardboard to transport frozen pizzas in and out of the oven—an accident/burn waiting to happen. Safety concerns prompted this purchase, but it is also a stylish piece.I would definitely recommend!

Best pizza peel I’ve had
This pizza peel is the best one I’ve ever owned. After months of testing, it’s held up very nicely. Do hand-wash it for longevity though. The wood is thick and the wedges on the outside are nice and long, shallower angle for easier scooping between the pizza and cooking surface (stone or rack). There’s two sides that are different. The solid side is for prepping the pizza to slide into the oven. Then there’s the grooved side for scooping. You can briefly use it for measuring the dough, to confirm your size, but it’s more of a guide for when cutting into 1/8ths. I do wish there were cut marks for 1/12ths (and inherently 1/6ths). The only issue with the grooves instead of burned guides is that crumbs get into them and must be manually cleaned out with a hard plastic spatula or dough scraper or something like that.

Impulse grab that really paid off
This isn’t something that I would have considered needing, but darnit if it’s not a great addition to our indoor and outdoor kitchens.This pizza spatula is legitimately GREAT! It’s large and sturdy enough to handle the biggest pizza in either our indoor oven or our green egg outdoors. The cutting guide is a nice addition. The spatula looks nice and functions as expected.

I ordered the “Loftern Wooden Pizza Peel 16 Inch Board with Engraved Sizes – Multi-Purpose Bamboo Pizza Cutting Board, Wood Pizza Peel, Pizza Spatula Paddle, and Serving Board with Size and Cutting Guide” to review and to make some grill pizzas I saw in a video online. When it first arrived, I was concerned about how thick it is since most of the others I’ve seen are a thin metal sheet. After trying it, I’m actually much happier that this is wooden and realized that the thickness has no bearing on it if you use this peel to prepare and deliver the pizza. I got a smaller thin metal one separately for turning and picking up the finished pizza. Using this peel for prep and delivery works better as the uncooked pizza slides off of it much more easily than a metal one. I’m sure it would pick one up just fine though too. I love how heavy-duty this one is. I like that it has the markings on one side but I used the flat side since I chose to use semolina flour to help the pizza slide off more easily and I didn’t want it getting all stuck in the grooves. Robust large pizza peel with practical touches
We enjoy the occasional home made pizza but we’re by no means pizza making experts, just looking to up our home pizza game and this is the latest addition.It is large enough to handle a 16″ pizza. It has a1/2″ thickness giving it a solid one piece feel and the robust weight to go with it. I did wonder about a longer handle but that’s less practical in a home kitchen so it makes sense. I like that the front edge is tapered on both sides to make it easy to slide the pizza on or off. The cutting guides are a nice touch, but honestly half the enjoyment is making fun sizes with the kids and devouring them as is, but it’s good to know if I ever need to cut the perfect I can easily do so with this pizza peel.Pizza game upgraded.

We tried this out on a 16 inch pizza from Food Lion. My husband used it to put the pizza in and pull it out of the oven, and then cut the pizza on the board. All went great. And it’s pretty too. Now all I need is a pizza stone. One day … But glad I got this peel!

This pizza peel is great. It is very sturdy, and it has measurements for pizza sizes etched into it as well so you can get the right size you need. It only has etching on 1 side, this way the other side is smooth (which is nice because the grooves could make the dough catch otherwise).The end is shaved down to make it easy to get underneath the pizza. When you are all done cleaning is pretty easy overall. Great wooden pizza peel.

Throw some cornmeal on these, slide your pizza on, stretch it out, and get them into your oven. Some folks may build the pizza right on the peel but you need to be really fast or it may end up sticking. I don’t have enough trust in my speed to do that. In any case, this is a nice peel.

I really love this wooden pizza board. It is made out of nice high quality wood and you are able to easily insert and retrieve pizza from the hot oven. It has a beveled edge so it easily slides under the pizza. The handle is nice and long so you won’t burn yourself. It also has a small hole on the end so you can hang in a hook if desired. One side has grooves to help you cut the pizzas into symmetrical slices. The other side is flat and can be used as charcuterie board. Very impressed w this product. It’s seems well thought out and very durable.

This is one substantial pizza peel! I’ve never used one before, and have watched enough cooking shows on TV and on the internet to be dangerous! I got this simply because I didn’t have one – wasn’t sure I needed it in the first place, but sometimes you just have to go with your instincts and take the plunge! I used parchment paper to roll out my pizza dough very thin, then dressed the dough with my favorite toppings. My hubby put the pizza stone on the gas grill outdoors and heated that to > 500F. It was time to see if this pizza peel thing was really worth its salt. Let me tell you this: YES!! Getting this onto the super hot pizza stone was a breeze (albeit I was a bit awkward with it because, you know, I’ve never used one before. Plus the thing is a little bit heavy for me and laden with the additional weight of the pizza ingredients it was just a bit cumbersome). However, I persisted and the pizza slid right onto the stone beautifully. I set my timer to 4 minute intervals to keep an eye on the progress. In 8 minutes, the pizza was done and the pizza peel slid right under the pizza on the stone, and was ever so easy to transfer to a cutting board. Any pizza toppings that spilled onto the peel were easily cleaned off and I am happy to say that I will be making this my go-to kitchen gadget from now on! Gonna try it when I make Dakota bread next time! Do yourself a favor – get one of these!

Large, double sided quality wooden pizza peel
I have never used a pizza peel before but have wanted to try one for a while. Was not really sure if i would like this or not but I am quite pleasantly surprised. The is nice quality wood. it’s a really good size so even larger pizzas are no problem. The handle is a good length so you don’t have to get your hands too close to the hot oven. I also like this peel has two sides. One size has a built in pizza cutting guide. The other side is smooth so it’s great for other things besides pizza such as hime made bread. Overall I am becoming more proficient with using this and i would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a nice quality wooden pizza peel
